You should check out Tamara Manning's daily photo project

I’m really enjoying Tamara Manning’s daily photo project.  Just about every day for the last four months or so, she’s been posting a self-potrait as flavouredechos on Flickr.

These aren’t your typical selfies, nor is there any narcissism at all.  The daily pics are challenging, sometimes funny, and always interesting.  Manning is a skilled photographer and creative storyteller.  Here are a few samples.
