This Zellers store on Sparks Street is staying "as is" but at least six others in Ottawa are switching over to Targets.  Photo by [ Steve Brandon ](http://www.flickr.com/photos/steve-brandon/249901957/) , used by permission.

Target (say it with a soft “g” to sound classier) is planning to open six new stores in the Ottawa are a, opening in 2013 :

 *
Hazeldean Mall on Eagleson Road

 *
Meadowlands Shopping Centre on Merivale Road

 *
Billings Bridge Plaza at Bank & Riverside

 *
Bayshore Shopping Centre on Richmond Road at the 417

 *
St. Laurent Centre on St. Laurent Blvd.

 *
Place d'Orleans on Place d'Orleans Drive

All of the new locations will replace the existing Zellers stores, but Zellers won’t disappear from Ottawa, at least for the time being.  They’re staying at these locations (no word on whether lowest price will still be the law):

  *
 Hull, Aylmer and Gatineau

  *
 Bell's Corners (Moodie Drive @ Robertson Road, or whatever it's called now)

  *
 Gloucester (Ogilvie Road near Blair)

  *
 ...and Sparks Street at 156 Sparks.  (Did you know: the building that Zellers occupies was originally built in 1871 for the Poulin Dry Goods Store.
