What's the deal with these transit fines?

A while back, Ottawa Sun reporter Jon Willing blogged about Ottawa’s Public Transit Bylaw, and the list of infractions and fines that can be levied for a variety of bad behaviour. ** ** Check out the list here. **

** The list of infractions reads like a bus ride from hell. But some of the fines associated with the infractions seem a little out of whack. Like, the fine for “Placing feet on seat cushion” is the same as “Urinating in a bus, transit station”.

And I love that there’s a fine for “Boarding a bus while wearing ice skates”. That’s

What’s the worst thing you’ve done on the bus?

When I was in junior high, the big thing to do was to take down the interior cardboard ads. I ended up with a Energy 1200 bus ad.

But I was never fined.
