Here’s a press release from Corus Radio about changes coming to boom 99.7.  It’s the sister station to Jump! 106.9, which changed formats earlier this year from The Bear.

Long-time radio host Wendy Daniels, who spent years at The Bear, will co-host the morning show.  Sandy Sharkey is another well-known Ottawa radio personality, worked for over 30 years in radio in various roles at stations like Bob, Kool, CFMO, CFRA.

Pete Marier, the other morning show host, was most recently at 92.5 The Beat in Montreal. His bio from that station’s website reads: “A seasoned broadcaster, Pete Marier is as passionate now about the craft as he was 30 plus years ago when he first hit a mic switch in Timmins, Ontario. He has worked every shift in a wide variety of formats, including Country (!) and is an accomplished and versatile voice-over artist. A native Montrealer, Pete lives in the Eastern Townships with his wife and three sons… all of whom are taller than he is.”

The new line-up starts on August 25, just before the fall ratings period.

No word yet on if the music format will change, but we’ve sent a few emails out to see if we can find out what’s up.
