On Friday at 7:00pm, Phil Hall, David O’Meara and Sandra Ridley read from their most recent poetry collections. It’s free but registration is required - email neil@writersfestival.org . Then on Saturday at 9:30am, there’s a writing workshop with Phil Jenkins. Family day is on Sunday, so there will be things for kids to do. And on Friday, TV’s George Wendt from _ Cheers _ will be tapping the inaugural keg. This year, the concerts have moved to GigSpace, where audiences can hear them in an quiet, intimate hall. Saturday’s show is the first of eight running until next April, and will feature Roddy with bassist Adrian Vedady and drummer John Fraboni, who have excellent reputations both in their native Montreal and here in Ottawa.
