Weekend reading #1: Lorne Street resident says "au revoir" after 93 years

From the Centretown Buzz , here’s a story about Adrienne Brunet, a resident of Lorne Street (in Chinatown) for the past 93 years:

Mlle Brunet is the longest living resident on Lorne Avenue, having been in her home at 125 Lorne Avenue for about 93 years. She was born in this house built by her grandfather, as were all her brothers and her sister.

This past winter, Adrienne let her nephews know that it was time for a move to easier quarters. Climbing to the second floor definitely is getting more difficult and with the winter’s frequent icy conditions, she had felt very cooped-up because she couldn’t risk going out. Read the full article…
