28 June 2016 / #byward market #ottawa police Three teens charged after weekend shooting, stabbing in ByWard Market_ (press release) _ (Ottawa) - The Ottawa Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit has charged one adult and two youths after a shooting and a stabbing on Saturday June 25, 2016.Patrol officers were called to the area of Dalhousie and Rideau at 2:50am and located three male victims with non life-threatening injuries. Two were transported to a local hospital and one refused medical treatment. One of the males had been stabbed in the abdomen the others had been shot.At the scene, one of the responding officers observed a suspect pass off a firearm to another. A loaded firearm was subsequently seized and five suspects were apprehended and taken into custody.As a result, Muhammed KABEYA, an 18 year old male from Ottawa, was charged with a drug-related offence. He was released on a Promise to appear.A 14 year old female, from Gatineau, was charged with Careless Use of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm Knowing Not Authorized, Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime and Accessory after the fact. She was released on a Promise to appear.A 17 year old male, of Ottawa, was charged with Careless Use of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm Knowing Not Authorized, Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime, two counts of Breach of Recognizance and Accessory after the fact. He was held for a show cause.The other two persons arrested were released without charges.
