Happy birthday to the Ottawa Citizen, which turns 175 this year!

The Ottawa Citizen started out as The Packet in March 1845 and was renamed to The Ottawa Citizen in 1851. As for the rest of the story, we’ll leave it to them to tell…

The Citizen also posted a 2013 video touring their facility, including details on their trio of 300,000-lbs printing presses.

Fun fact not mentioned in the video: Did you know the Citizen is Canada’s largest newspaper that continues to do all of their printing on-site? Most others have remote printers or contract it out to another company.
