Swantanamo Bay: Activist photos of Ottawa's Royal Swans

Wildlife Ontario has posted photos of Ottawa’s Royal Swans in their holding pen, a place they dub “Swantanamo Bay” because of its poor conditions:

"These photographs show the swans locked up in their dismal housing conditions at the Leitrim Road facility. Cramped outdoor enclosures that are overgrown with shoulder high weeds and even smaller dirty pools would not meet humane standards for even short-term care, let alone be acceptable for continuous captivity (the Royal Swans have a wingspan of 7.5 to 8 feet). Their wings are elevated, a sign of stress, and feathers are scattered everywhere."
