Some photos from yesterday's #Flugtag event on the Ottawa River

Here are a few pics that I snapped at yesterday’s Red Bull Flugtag event. You can see more photos in this Flickr photo set.

We took the kids and they had fun. Managed to find a place on the rocks near the river to watch from. There were thousands of people along the shore of the river at the Museum of Civilization.  There were also dozens of boats: kayaks, huge pleasure crafts, motor boats and a guy in a mini dinghy.  It was a beautiful summer day.  Hot sun with a cool breeze along the water.

Parking was a challenge.  We arrived about 45 minutes after the start of the event and all of the street parking and lots were full. I ended up paying $10 to a rough looking fellow at a drinking establishment called Taverne 57.  He was wearing a fanny pack full of cash and demanded $10 for parking in his lot.  Our car was still there when we got back.
