8 November 2016Some guy lost a wheel on the Queensway_ (press release) _ (Ottawa, ON) –The Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police has investigated a lost wheel incident on Highway 417.At approximately 6:18pm on November 06th 2016, a pick-up truck was traveling E/B on Highway 417 near Riverside Dr. when it lost the rear left wheel. The wheel bounced into the oncoming W/B lanes striking 2 vehicles causing extensive damage but no injuries to the drivers and the occupants.The investigation indicates that the lug nuts were loose causing the wheel to detach itself from the vehicle.The OPP would like to remind the motorists that when they are changing their tires for the winter season, to make sure that all the wheels are properly secured.
