27 July 2010 / #garbage & recycling #rants Rant of the Day: Reevely on green bins, maggots, garbage, landfillsLast week, David Reevely posted this on his Greater Ottawa blog:I can't help but wonder what we'd have been like if somebody tried to introduce curbside garbage pickup for the first time in 2010.“You want me to what? Keep my garbage in my kitchen and my bathroom for days, and then scoop it all out and put it in another can outside the house? They did this in Halifax and they got raccoons. I hear some places they even get bears. What kind of idiot wants to do something that’ll attract bears into the city? What about my children’s safety? I’m just going to keep using my midden.”And for that, he’s nominated for today’s Rant of the Day.
