Queen Street lane reductions start Monday

_ (via City of Ottawa) _ The westbound lane of Queen Street, between Lyon Street and Bay Street, will be closed starting Monday, January 11 and will remain closed until the end of 2016 to allow for construction related to the future Lyon Station, which is part of the O-Train Confederation Line Light Rail (LRT) Transit project.

A signed detour will be in place and will direct traffic travelling westbound on Queen Street to head south on Lyon Street North, west on Albert Street, north on Bay Street, and then west on Queen Street. Right-hand turns from Lyon Street North to Queen Street will also be banned.

Businesses remain open as usual. Queen Street’s eastbound lane will remain open to traffic and access to parking garages will be maintained.

The sidewalk on the south side of Queen Street will remain open throughout the construction.
