Photos: Construction of the Algonquin College pedestrian bridge over Woodroffe Avenue

Big thanks to Kyle Smith of Kyle Smith Media , who gave us permission to publish some of the photos he snapped of the construction of the Algonquin College pedestrian bridge. Woodroffe Avenue was shut down all weekend so that the bridge – freshly from a factory in Quebec - could be lifted into place. The bridge is scheduled to open in 2011, not a moment too soon for Algonquin students who’ve spent years waiting for the light to change at Baseline Station.

(I love that there are actually spectators watching the installation in the third photo. Ottawa loves heavy machinery.)
