We drove to Almonte yesterday to check out the 10th anniversary of [ Puppets Up! ](http://puppetsup.ca/) It's a charming festival in a charming town.  The festival continues all day Sunday.

Two recommended shows:

** _ An Arabian Adventure _ by Tanglewood Marionettes **

Peter Schaefer and Jenn Tebo from Massachussetts perform an enchanting show about an Arabian prince and his quest to marry a princess.  This show is perfectly executed, from the marionettes to the beautifully painted sets to the sound design.  A few surprises and special effects kept kids and adults enthralled.  Three shows on Sunday: 11:15am, 2:45pm, 4:45pm.

** _ Once Upon a Time… Two Feet! _ by Little Feet Theatre **

Veronica Gonzales from Italy uses her hands, head, knees and feet to create a variety of characters.  At the start of the show there are several old-looking suitcases on the stage. Each one contains a different story featuring puppets and props.  Funny, a bit weird, very creative.  Three shows on Sunday: 10:15am, 12:15pm, 3:45pm.

Veronica Gonzales pulls off quite the feat with her one-person show.

Here are some more photos showing some of the quirky entertainment around Almonte on Saturday. Many of these are from the daily parade that starts at 1:45pm down the main street.  (The parade is free.)

Sidewalks are packed for the daily parade. The clown in the foreground nearly ran me over last summer.

One of several street performance areas. He kind of looks like Mike MacDonald (the comedian) to me.
