** Saturday, June 23: Emilie’s Run Women’s Only 5k and Kids' 1k **

Emilie Mondor was the first Canadian women to run sub 15:00 for 5K and an Athens Olympian. She tragically died in a car crash following a training session, in 2006. Since 2007, Emilie’s Run has paid tribute to her legacy in a women’s only 5k at the Aviation Museum. Not only is the 5k breathtakingly fast, but the kids' 1k dash is also a treat to watch (and we’ve even spotted female medalists handing out the finishing medals to the kids as they cross the finish line).

** Tuesday, June 25: Theo Bleckmann and Ben Monder Duo at Café Paradiso

** Although the Jazz Festival has everyone’s attention for the next 10 days, there’s still lots of interesting jazz going on across Ottawa-Gatineau. Particularly notable is the duo of Theo Bleckmann and Ben Monder: two renowned and inventive NYC musicians who explore the full potential of voice and guitar together.
