** Thursday, February 6 **

** : Art show at Hintonburg Public House ** Check out this fantastic art show at the Hintonburg Public House from February 3 - March 3 in support of ALSO! Opening Party on Thursday, February 6 at 7pm! The event, Sweet Brown Sugar Baadasssss Black Power, is a celebration of counter-culture. The Black is Beautiful and Black Power movements awoke consciences of many generations. This artistic and political revolution remains a reference for modern social justice struggles. The works presented in this vernissage hone in on icons of these movements and thus remind us of the correlation between the struggle for recognition (Black Power), the affirmation of differences (Black is Beautiful) and the birth of an original aesthetic (the counter-culture). Part of the proceeds will go to ALSO Adult & Family Literacy.
