** Until January 7: ** ** Christmas Lights Across Canada ** This season marks the 31st edition of Christmas Lights Across Canada. The program was launched in 1985 to highlight landmarks along Confederation Boulevard, including Parliament Hill, National Capital Commission (NCC) sites, national museums, institutions, monuments, embassies and other prominent institutions, as well as to add vibrancy to the Capital during the winter months and kick off the holiday season in Canada’s Capital Region. Notable updates this year include an increase of 100,000 lights in the Capital including a new location on MacKenzie Avenue, and a winter lightscape projection show that will be presented on Parliament buildings every night from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. _ (Sponsored) _ ** Thursday, December 3: ** ** A Charlie Brown Christmas with The Jerry Granelli Trio ** His tunes have been a part of Christmas tradition for North American families for the past 45 years, close as an old friend, comfortable as an old blanket. As one third of the legendary San Francisco-based Vince Guaraldi Trio, Jerry Granelli recorded what is arguably the greatest Christmas album of all time in 1965 – the soundtrack to the animated classic A Charlie Brown Christmas. _ (Sponsored) _ ** Thursday, December 3: Vikings Exhibition ** This Thursday, the Canadian Museum of History will be opening a new exhibition called Vikings, a travelling show on Scandinavian history and culture that has already been seen by over a million people around the globe. I would strongly recommend you look them up as they feature members of Sloan, the Inbreds, Superfriendz and Flashing Lights. You know this will be a fun show! _ – Ryan Bresee , CKCU’s Whatever’s Cool With Me _ ** Friday, December 4 (8pm): ZEUS @ Zaphod Beeblebrox ** Arts & Crafts Records leading modern/classic rock outfit Zeus resumes its eternal affair with timeless melody, vintage ambiance and instant future classicism. Their latest album, Classic Zeus, is a peerless rejuvenation: a marvelous intersection of tension and harmony; newfangled in its dazzling personality, but unabashedly anchored to Zeus’ ear for that essential pop aura. This is Zeus’ most dynamic and focused record to date, a truly collective effort of singular vision, despite wearing the strains of diversity on its sleeve. It is the sound of a band carving new sonic space and rediscovering itself therein. Watch the video here: [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?
