OttawaStart.com to close; rebranding as Ottawa's Tart, online bakery

When OttawaStart.com was born a little over 19 years ago, in September 1998, we were nothing more than a gateway to the world wide web. From a simple collection of links in the ’90s and early 2000s, to a top destination for news and information about Ottawa in more recent years, we’ve been changing a lot to serve our readers better.

While we’ve enjoyed connecting Ottawa with all this city has to offer, we’ve decided to try something fresh.

We are pleased to announce that _ OttawaStart.com _ will close today and undergo a rebranding as Ottawa’s Tart – a new premium online bakery in the nation’s capital.

“While readers of _ OttawaStart.com _ are fans of the timely and accurate information we’ve become known for, they will soon come to enjoy Ottawa’s Tart because of its timely and accurate muffin-making procedures,” says Lindon Sinilindon, business director at Ottawa’s Tart.

“The online publishing business is a mess, so we’re pivoting to croissants.”
