Ottawa vigil in honour of the victims in Orlando - Sunday @ 8pm

Capital Pride expresses its outrage at this morning’s tragic attack in Orlando, and its profound sadness over the human toll exacted. The targeting of any group with senseless acts of violence is an abhorrent act of cowardice.

We stand in solidarity against such acts of violence. We express our deepest sympathies to the victims and their loved ones. We convey our gratitude to first responders whose actions prevented more victims.

Ottawa’s LGBT community, its allies and all who grieve today’s tragic events are invited to gather at the ** human rights monument on Elgin Street tonight, June 12 at 8pm ** for a vigil in honour of the victims, and so we may be together at this time of sadness and anger.

Attendees are asked to bring candles as the light of tolerance, peace and pride shall not be extinguished by dark and violent acts of hate.
