15 March 2016 / #arts #cbc On March 21, you’re invited to showcase all the reasons why you HEART YOUR CITY #heartmyYOW_ (via CBC Ottawa _ _ ) _ Get ready Ottawa! On Monday, March 21 you are invited to showcase everything you love about Ottawa as CBC Ottawa hosts the HEART MY CITY PROJECT to capture “a day in the life” of our iconic hometown and share the moments that make up the pulse of our vibrant city. Plus, the day will culminate with a free public event of story and song at the historic Horticulture Building at Lansdowne Park. ** How to participate: ** From the mundane to the magical, from the east to the west, and everywhere in between, we want to see why Ottawans love Ottawa. We are particularly interested in a photo (or video) that shares why residents love Ottawa, from the special people in their lives, to favourite places, special events, and daily activities such as a walk in a favourite park, watching the sunrise on the way to work and so much more. We will be looking for photos and videos on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook with the hashtag #heartmyYOW. Please tag @CBCOttawa, just to make sure we see them. CBC Ottawa will also live stream the day’s events on our website at cbc.ca/ottawa. ** How to attend the live event: ** The Heart My City Concert is a free public event, but tickets must be reserved in advance. Join hosts Adrian Harewood of CBC News Ottawa and Teri Loretto for an all-Ottawa kind of evening—from CBC personalities, to giveaways, and a live art installation by renowned local artist Bhat Boy. Plus, musical performances by some incredible Ottawa-based talent: Yaa-Hemaa, DJ Memetic, Amanda Rheaume, Jeremy Fisher, Jim Bryson and Kalle Mattson. For more information, and to reserve tickets please visit cbc.ca/ottawa.
