13 February 2015 / #oc transpo #Ridership OC Transpo ridership increased in the second half of 2014For the first time in over two years, OC Transpo ridership in the second half of the year has increased when compared to the same period a year earlier. Ridership reached 47.8 million between July and December 2014 compared to 47.5 million in the same period the previous year. “As we continue to build our world-class City-wide light rail transit system, it’s very encouraging to see that our service is attracting customers” said Mayor Jim Watson. The Q3 & Q4 2014 Transit Services Performance report provides information on how OC Transpo is performing relative to its established standards, as well as information on changes in performance over time. “While the increase is modest it appears that the service improvements we have been making are encouraging more residents to use OC Transpo. Our focus will continue to be on providing reliable, efficient and safe public transit while investing to improve service and attract more users to the system" said Councillor Stephen Blais, Transit Commission Chair. The performance report will be presented to the Transit Commission on February 18, 2015. For more information, go to ottawa.ca .
