8 August 2016OC Transpo: Bus drivers should not kick passengers off bus because of clothes_ (Editor’s note: CFRA reported last night on an 18-year-old girl, Monica Jean Werthner, who said she was booted from an OC Transpo bus because of her clothing. OC Transpo has now issued a statement to apologize) _As you are aware an incident occurred on Sunday where a passenger was asked to disembark one of our buses due to what the passenger was wearing. This should not have occurred. OC Transpo does not have a dress policy for passengers. It is very unfortunate that this occurred and it is not in keeping with our commitment to service excellence. https://twitter.com/CFRAOttawa/status/762486696789155841Our investigation into this matter is underway but I want to reassure everyone that this should not have occurred and we should never ask someone to leave the bus due to their attire. We view our service as an extension of our community sharing the same values of respect for all. We have apologized to the customer and have provided an appropriate refund. We have also extended an apology to her family.** John Manconi **General Manager, Transportation Services Department
