20 April 2015 / #confederation line #construction Lyon Street reduced by one lane from Queen Street to Albert StreetLyon Street has been reduced by one lane from Queen Street to Albert Street to accommodate utility relocation work in advance of light rail transit station construction for the O-Train Confederation Line. The work is scheduled to be completed in early May. This work will take place during off-peak hours. Access to businesses will be maintained while work is ongoing, and buses will operate as normal through the affected area. During active construction work, the sidewalk on the east side of Lyon Street will be closed and pedestrians are being detoured to the west side. The cycling lane on the west side of Lyon Street will be closed and cyclists are asked to merge with vehicular traffic. Motorists and cyclists are reminded to exercise extra caution while travelling through this area. During peak travel periods when there is no construction taking place, all sidewalks and the cycle lane will remain open. The O-Train Confederation Line is an Ottawa on the Move project. Ottawa on the Move is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water, and sewer projects to build a better city and create jobs.
