TRAFFIC TIP: Lots of road closures in Ottawa over next few weeks

There’s going to be a whack of closures over the next few weeks for road work and construction:

From June 4 (Saturday) to September 5, southbound Bank Street will be closed from Wellington Street to Albert Street. Northbound Bank Street will be down to one lane. Detours will be in place and businesses remain open. OC Transpo routes 1, 2, 7, 9 and 12 will be detoured.

Starting this Monday, Queen Elizabeth Driveway from Waverley Street to Laurier Avenue will be completely closed for the week. Ramps between the Driveway and Laurier Avenue will also close. Detours via Catherine and Elgin Streets will be in place.

 

The Rideau Canal Western Pathway, which runs parallel to the Queen Elizabeth Driveway, will be closed from Waverley Street to Somerset Street. Pedestrians and cyclists will be detoured through the Driveway.

Finally, Eastbound Wellington Street from Booth Street to the Portage Bridge intersection, the Sir John A. MacDonald Parkway between Preston and Booth streets, northbound Preston Street between the Sir John A. MacDonald Parkway and Albert Street will be closed for the next three weekends. The closure runs from 7 a.m. Saturday to 5 p.m. Sunday every weekend. Westbound Wellington Street and the westbound Parkway will remain open.

OC Transpo Route 8 to Gatineau will detour.
