Lane reductions on Nicholas Street to last all summer

Nicholas Street, between Highway 417 and Laurier Avenue, will be reduced to one lane in each direction beginning Monday, May 11 and continuing until October.

The lane reductions are necessary to allow for the installation of new sewer and watermain infrastructure along Nicholas Street, rehabilitation of the Mann Avenue overpass and resurfacing of the road.

Watermain and sewer work is scheduled to take place during daytime and noise levels are anticipated to be low to moderate.

Traffic impacts are expected to be high during this construction activity. Motorists should expect delays.

With all of the construction-related activities underway, residents are encouraged to be flexible with commuting times, stagger work hours or use alternative means for travel. The public is asked to consider options such as transit, walking, cycling or carpooling.
