19 May 2015 / #cycling #kanata Kanata North Cycling Open House, May 19Cycling Sub-Committee has organized a public open house. This sub-committee is focused on the cycling safety and accessibility needs within Kanata North of three specific user groups: Recreational Cyclists; _ _ Families; Commuter Cyclists. Their primary goal was to understand how accessible established neighbourhoods in Kanata North are for cyclists by road & paths: between neighborhoods; to get to Kanata North amenities such as shopping, recreation, libraries, etc; to commute back and forth to work; for recreational enjoyment. They will present the results of their study and a map of the cycling routes in Kanata North, discuss the next steps, volunteer opportunities, provide a demonstration and answer questions. “The enthusiastic participation and hard work by the volunteers of TACK is providing great information on safe cycling in the community and where there is a need for improvements. The aim of TACK is to foster a quality of service that benefits all residents who are users of transit, cycling, sidewalks (pedestrians), and roads as their modes of transportation.
