Highway 417 from Anderson Road Easterly to Limoges Road

Please be advised that construction is about to begin on Highway 417 from Anderson Road Easterly to

Limoges Road, 25km.

The Ministry of Transportation has awarded this construction contract to R.W. Tomlinson Limited for the

realignment of Highway 417 eastbound and westbound at Bear Brook Creek, including the construction of

two (2) new Bear Brook Creek bridges, rehabilitation of Piperville Road Underpass, Leitrim Road Underpass,

and paving work at Anderson Road. The asphalt on Highway 417 will also be rehabilitated.

It is anticipated that night-time lane closures will occur throughout the construction season. We apologize in

advance for this inconvenience and very much appreciate the public’s patience during construction. All

consideration has been given to implement traffic control measures to ensure minimal disruption to the

traveling public. Short term closures of the ramps at Anderson Road, Boundary Road, and Rockdale Road will

also occur during the construction season.

Piperville Road Underpass will be closed starting May 1, 2015 and is anticipated to reopen in October 2015.

Leitrim Road Underpass will be closed starting May 1, 2016 and is scheduled to reopen in October 2016.

A signed detour route will be implemented during the Piperville Road Underpass and Leitrim Road Underpass

closures.

The construction is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2017.

The Prime Contractor is R.W. Tomlinson Limited and their representative is Richard Poulin.

The Contract Administration for the project is McIntosh Perry Consulting Engineers and the Contract Administrator is Donna Yates.
