The 8th edition of the TD Ottawa Winter Jazz Festival will take place from February 7-9, 2019, at La Nouvelle Scène (333 King Edward Ave).

Shows alternate between two stages (Studio A and Studio B). Don’t miss this year’s free Winter Jazz Jams (included in the ticket price at the Bistro at the entrance lounge) on Thursday and Friday (Feb. 7 & 8) after the last show (11:00pm) with drink service. Any jazz musician is welcome to join the jam!

From New York to Vancouver and Montreal to Halifax, a bevvy of significant festival favourites are heading to Ottawa to participate in this year’s Festival. Ardent music lovers will have the opportunity to hear famed headliners pianist Joey Calderazzo (Feb 9 at 9pm) and vocalist/pianist/ukuleleist Nellie McKay (Feb 7 at 6:30pm) along with a consummate collection of artists. The 33z are back with a special tribute to the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin.

New this year, the Festival has invited three Artists-in-Residence – Collaborations with Marianne Trudel - piano; Kevin Breit - guitar and Michael Blake - saxophone, to bring their own bands in their own show and perform in different combinations throughout the event in four distinct collaborations featuring their unique creative strengths. And after another triumphant Tales of a Charlie Brown Christmas, legendary drummer Jerry Granelli is back performing with Michael Blake’s Trio along with master cellist Peggy Lee and in the fourth Artists-in-Residence collaboration.
