Goulbourn Recreation Complex, now a division of Cardel Homes

This recently came across the OttawaStart news desk, via the City of Ottawa:

“Mayor Jim Watson, Stittsville Ward Councillor Glen Gower and Greg Graham, President Cardel Homes Ottawa, will officially unveil the new naming rights partnership of the Goulbourn Recreation Complex.”

That’s right Stittsvillians. Now it’s got the catchy new name “CARDELREC Recreation Complex - Goulbourn.” Cardel is paying the city $40,000 per year for 15 years (totalling $600,000) for the naming rights.

The city’s corporate partnerships program “gives businesses, organizations and individuals the opportunity to create a lasting legacy of community improvement while taking advantage of the unique marketing opportunities that only our City can provide,” while also generating $1,638,100 in revenue for the city since 2012, and at least one great headline for sarcastic OttawaStart editors. (Sorry guys.)
