Earlier today, Ottawa arist and OttawaStart contributor Andrew King launched a limited-edition t-shirt featuring the Elphin , the iconic elf-alien figure that adorns the Elphin apartment building on Metcalfe Street downtown.  King writes:

"Due to popular demand, I have drawn up an “Elphin” character and made it into a t-shirt. This odd little creature has adorned the side of the Elphin Apartment Buildings in downtown Ottawa since 1966, and can still be enjoyed today, minus his leg. I sketched and coloured my own replica version of this Ottawa icon (with a new leg) and have contacted some local talent to put the Elphin emblazoned shirts into production. Join in on this exclusively Ottawa piece of nostalgia and own a delightful t-shirt to share with friends and confuse those that aren’t friends."
