Game night changes will assist safety and efficiency on Huntmar Drive

The City of Ottawa and the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club are introducing changes that will assist hockey fans leaving the Canadian Tire Centre, via Cyclone Taylor Boulevard onto Huntmar Drive.

For approximately one hour, beginning immediately after each Senators evening home game this season, Huntmar Drive from Cyclone Taylor Boulevard will operate with two lanes heading northbound across the Highway 417 overpass to Campeau Drive and the newly constructed roundabout.

From the roundabout, vehicles will have access to HIghway 417 via the Palladium Drive interchange but will not be able to turn south back onto Huntmar Drive. Drivers are reminded to align themselves into the appropriate lane before entering the roundabout.

Also, pedestrians will not be allowed onto the Huntmar Drive overpass where it crosses Highway 417 both before and following hockey games.

Additional changes to improve traffic flow are expected to be complete in November.
