Former astronaut Chris Hadfield running for youth in Gatineau this Fathers' day

_ (press release) _ Gatineau, 19 June - In partnership with Grands Frères Grandes Sœurs de l’Outaouais (GFGSO), Vintage Wings of Canada (VWofC) Foundation will host the inaugural “Chris Hadfield Run for Youth” to be held at the Gatineau Executive Airport, Sunday 19 June 2016 from 0830 to 1030.

Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield will be participating in two runs; a 1km Children’s run will be followed by a 5K run for all ages. The opportunity to join the first Canadian to walk in space for a fun run on an operational airport runway is sure to create a spectacular memory for everyone. Your registration fees include a goody bag, and they help support local programs for young Canadians.

The Hadfield Run for Youth is expected to draw hundreds of runners of all ages and abilities, and precedes the launch of the _ Hadfield Youth Leadership Summit _ that will take place on 30 June 2016, prior to the Gatineau Airshow. Funds raised through these activities contribute to supporting Canada’s youth organizations, including Grands Frères Grandes Sœurs, the Canadian Cadet program, Aboriginal Youth, and others.
