Expect delays and traffic disruptions in the downtown area this Sunday, April 24

_ (via Ottawa Police) _ The Ottawa Police Service wishes to advise Ottawa residents that traffic disruptions are expected to occur in the afternoon of Sunday, April 24, 2016 in the downtown area.

There will be a demonstration on Parliament Hill in the afternoon and participants will be marching, starting at approximately 2:00pm, to an embassy near the MacDonald Gardens Park (at Heney and Wurtemburg Streets).

Ottawa Police will be doing rolling road closures along the march route. Streets affected during the march will be Wellington Street, Rideau Street and Cobourg Street.

Is it expected that the area of the MacDonald Gardens will be impacted from about 2:30pm to 4:00pm. No Parking signs will be posted on residential streets immediately around Macdonald Gardens Park for overnight on Saturday and all day Sunday.

While there are no planned road closures, commuters are asked to avoid the area or take an alternate route whenever possible.
