Easter fun at City of Ottawa museums this Saturday

Families can have fun together this Saturday hunting for Easter eggs, decorating eggs, meeting farm animals, and visiting with the Easter Bunny as City of Ottawa museums celebrate Easter on Saturday April 4. Each museum has created a special theme that is sure to delight children and adults alike. ** Easter at the Estate ** – Billings Estate National Historic Site 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost: $6/person, $10/pair, $16/family

“Egg jarping”? What in the world is that? Discover what it is, and more, as we explore Easter traditions from around the world. There will be traditional North American Easter activities, including an Easter egg hunt and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Make fun, lasting memories with the whole family as you participate in our hands-on activities such as: egg-rolling races, egg dyeing, perfume making, water balloon tosses, and, of course, egg jarping. ** Curious Cottontail’s Easter Egg Hunt ** – Cumberland Heritage Village Museum 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost: $7/person, $5/students and seniors, $18/family

Have you met our very own Easter Bunny?  Curious Cottontail comes out of hiding once a year to help our young friends find their Easter eggs tucked away in the most unexpected places. Have fun while exploring the history of rural agriculture at our large petting zoo (with bunnies, cows, donkeys, and more). Then, learn to make all-natural dyes and become skilled at dyeing eggs. ** Bell’s Bunny Hop ** – Fairfields Heritage House 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cost: $6/person, $10/pair, $16/family

Join us for an EGG-citing Easter hunt and meet the Easter bunny. Hop on into Fairfields to learn about Victorian family Easter traditions. You will experiment with making all-natural dyes, dyeing eggs, and paper basket weaving. It’s sure to be a sp’EGG’tacular time for the whole family. ** Easter at Nepean Museum ** – Nepean Museum 1 to 4 p.m.

Cost: by donation

Take part in our family-friendly Easter scavenger hunt. You will explore the museum while solving clues about Easter traditions in Nepean. Be sure to take part in making an egg-cellent craft. ** Horaceville Hop ** – Pinhey’s Point Historic Site 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost: $6/person, $10/pair, $16/family

Celebrate spring and Easter with us at Pinhey’s. The Horaceville Hop includes a petting zoo with adorable baby animals, our annual egg hunt, and, of course, a visit with the Easter Bunny. We’re also excited to start planting our beautiful gardens and we need your help starting seeds. We’ll even place a special tag on your seeds so you can come back and see how your plant has grown. Make sure to decorate your own pot and plant your own seeds to take home.
