Earth Hour reduces Ottawa's power consumption by 6%

Ottawa’s power consumption dropped 6% last night during Earth Hour – at least that’s what Mayor Larry O’Brien says in his blog . That’s better than the 4% reduction achieved in 2008. O’Brien says that the 6% reduction is equivalent to the amount of electricity needed to power 58 homes for a month ** .
