Drivers asked to exercise caution near Commissioners Park for the tulips in bloom

A large number of visitors are expected near Commissioners Park to see the tulips in bloom over the next three weekends. Traffic management activities will be in place near Commissioners Park on May 6-7, May 14-15 and May 21-22-23.

Depending on pedestrian traffic flow, between 10 am and 5 pm, National Capital Commission (NCC) conservation officers may close the following:

Crescent Heights (between Queen Elizabeth Driveway and Dow’s Lake Road);

 * 
Lakeside Avenue (between Queen Elizabeth Driveway and Commissioners Park entrance);

 * 
Crescent Heights and Lakeside Avenue will remain accessible via Bronson Avenue. Ottawa Police Services will also be on-site (at the intersection of Queen Elizabeth Driveway, Prince of Wales Drive and Preston Street) to manage traffic.

Close to 250,000 tulips, of 60 different varieties, bloom in 30 flowerbeds in Commissioners Park. Dogs and bicycles are not permitted in the Park. Bike stands will be installed at Park entrances.

The Canadian Tulip Festival will be held from May 12-23, 2016 at Lansdowne Park.
