7 November 2014 / #police Datashred Security provides an opportunity for confidential documents to be shredded this SaturdayAs part of Crime Prevention Week 2014, the Ottawa Police Service will be participating in a fundraiser in partnership with Datashred Security on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 10: 00 am to 1:00pm at 2385 City Park Drive (near the Silver City theatre).The shredding service is free, but donations will be accepted on behalf of the Ottawa Food Bank.Datashred Security is a shredding company, based in Ottawa since 1994, that will be volunteering their shredding services in return for a food donation.“Shredding your confidential documents is a great way to reduce your risk of identity theft,” said Ottawa Police Community Police Centre Sergeant Vanessa McNeil. “It’s also a way to help people in our community by bringing a donation for the Ottawa Food Bank.”Ottawa residents are invited to participate in this community event and get rid of those confidential documents they’ve been holding on to because they don’t know what to do with them.
