30 June 2015 / #recreation #Sports City’s wading pools celebrate summer with special eventsJoin us for summer fun at one of the City of Ottawa’s 56 wading pools , and enjoy the fabulous special events that the City has planned while keeping you cool at the pool. Each wading pool hosts one special event during the summer featuring arts and crafts, sports and games from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Four of the wading pool locations will be bumping it up with a larger event from noon to 1:30 p.m. with special activities, a free barbecue lunch and a Lunchtime Performing Arts Series show. These larger events will be held on the following dates at these wading pool locations: * Thursday, July 2, Sandy Hill Park – Featured performance by Aboriginal Experience’s Feel the Heart Beat * Thursday, July 16, Pushman Park – Featured performance by Caribbean Fête with Tarrah Mauricette * Thursday, July 30, Michele Heights Park – Featured performance by Rhythm Works * Thursday, August 13, Hampton Park – Featured performance by Luv2Groove Please remember that although summer by the water is fun, safety is paramount. Visitors are reminded to adhere to pool safety and water safety and practise good sun sense . The City also offers learn-to-swim programs at both indoor and outdoor pool locations.
