City wants your thoughts on public spaces

The city is putting out a call for people to provide their perspectives on three items related to public spaces, with deadlines approaching fast.

First, the city wants your ideas for year-round programming for Aberdeen Square in Lansdowne Park, to keep the place abuzz. Fill out that survey here…

They would also like you to fill out a 15-minute survey about the upcoming ByWard Market public realm plan. The city says: “The public realm plan will establish a vision for the short, medium and long-term improvements made to the network of public spaces in the ByWard Market. The types of public spaces to be studied and enhanced include streets, sidewalks, parks, squares and plazas. The plan will also identify strategies and partnerships to enliven key public places within the ByWard Market.” Check it out here…

In late spring, the city announced it was closing part of William Street in the Market to cars, to make it a space more about people than vehicles. A survey about that pilot project will be open for several months to help inform future plans. If you’ve been to the new pedestrian mall, fill out the survey here…
