City seeking public input on a commemorative naming proposal - Allen Sadler Fire Station

The City of Ottawa’s Commemorative Naming Committee is conducting public consultations on a proposal to rename Ottawa Fire Station #83, located at 2352 Roger Stevens Drive, the “Allen Sadler Fire Station”. ** Allen Sadler Fire Station (Ward 21 – Rideau-Goulbourn) ** In recognition of Allen Sadler’s extensive community service, the City of Ottawa has been asked to rename Ottawa Fire Station #83, located at 2352 Roger Stevens Drive, the “Allen Sadler Fire Station”.

Allen Sadler has served the community of North Gower as a volunteer firefighter since 1965, receiving his 50 years of service award in 2015. He serves as a role model for younger firefighters and is known amongst his colleagues to be dependable, approachable and always willing to answer questions.

In 2005, Allen was recognized as the Station 83 Firefighter of the Year, an award that is voted on by all members of a fire station, and in 2014 he received the District Firefighter of the Year award.
