21 December 2015 / #Ottawa on the Move #recreation City celebrates opening of Trillium multi-use pathwayPhase 2 of the Trillium multi-use pathway is now complete and the pathway has re-opened, offering an improved experience for pedestrians and cyclists. Located east of the O-Train Trillium Line on lands contributed by the National Capital Commission, the pathway extends from Carling Avenue to Young Street. With the completion of Phase 2, the pathway now features a paved surface from Carling Avenue to Adeline Street and the Hickory Street pedestrian bridge, as well as seamless access to the bridge. The pathway surface between Adeline Street and Beech Street was improved and new lighting was installed along the entire length of the pathway. At Beech Street the surface of the roadway was raised to provide a slightly higher platform at the intersection with the pathway, improving safety for cyclists and pedestrians. The City has also added a signalized cross-ride and crosswalk at Carling Avenue. The Trillium Line multi-use pathway Phase 2 project is an Ottawa on the Move project. Ottawa on the Move is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water, and sewer projects to build a better city and create jobs.
