Canadian War Museum earns TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Award

The Canadian War Museum has just won a 2014 Travelers’ Choice Award from TripAdvisor in the category of Top Museums — Canada. The award is based on reviews and opinions from millions of real travellers, posted on the TripAdvisor website.

“We are thrilled to be recognized in this way by visitors,” says James Whitham, Director General of the Canadian War Museum. “The War Museum is proud to be one of TripAdvisor’s top Canadian museums, as well as one of its top attractions in the National Capital, welcoming more than 450,000 visitors per year.”

TripAdvisor recommends Travelers' Choice Award-winning destinations every year, using an algorithm that weighs the quality and quantity of reviews from the website’s users. Of the more than 1,200 reviews of the Canadian War Museum on TripAdvisor, 95 percent rated it “Excellent” or “Very Good.” It was ranked third among the Top 10 museums in the country.

Posted comments include: “The best museum I’ve ever been to!” “Amazing experience not to be missed,” and “Don’t leave Ottawa without seeing this.” Other visitors called the Museum “a place everyone should visit; awesome architecturally, respectful of veterans” and “worth every minute of your time to learn the millions of things you never knew about Canada’s military.” _ The Canadian War Museum is Canada’s national museum of military history.
