Annual Bluesfest Rumours & Speculation Post (2019)

This year’s RBC Bluesfest runs from July 4-14 and, being the 25th anniversary of the festival, it’s likely we can expect to see a blockbuster lineup.

Some announcements were already made earlier. Organizers confirmed Backstreet Boys will be performing this year, as well as Eric Church, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, and Colter Wall. More performers will be announced this month, so to head that off why don’t we engage in some rampant speculation? It’s tradition, after all.

Here’s our small list of unconfirmed rumours and plausible speculation about possible acts this summer, to get started.

• Someone on Reddit thinks Weird Al might be there…

• Also via Reddit: Willie Nelson, Lady Gaga & Brad Cooper, Springsteen and Cheap Trick.

• Buddy Guy, Eric Gales and Sugaray Rayford are at Bluesfest in Windsor, also in early July. Could one (or all) of them also drop by Ottawa?

• The Offspring are playing near Saguenay, Que., on July 15…
