1310 News launches FM broadcast on 101.1; Country moves down the dial

Better change your radio presets — one of Ottawa’s AM stations is making the jump to FM.

Late last week, the Rogers-owned 1310 News rebranded itself to CityNews Ottawa and took over the 101.1 MHz FM frequency from its sister station, Country. The Country station has moved to 92.3 MHz, and the JACK station previously on that frequency has ceased broadcasting.

The CityNews name comes from Rogers' City TV network. Rogers operates several similar news stations across the country, collectively known as “green stations” in the industry lingo. Ottawa’s station is the first to totally rebrand under the CityNews umbrella.
