"In an announcement to be made Thursday, the station will be renamed BOOM and play music from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. The station, at 99.7 FM, is dropping the music of contemporary artists and playing a “greatest hits” format from those decades, said general manager Denis Bouchard."

The station is owned by Astral , who run a french Boom station (radio des legendes) in Montreal and an english Boom station (Toronto’s greatest hits) in Toronto. They also own The Bear in Ottawa.
