The 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship comes to Ottawa in December
2008-January 2009 (exact dates to be determined). The tournament will
feature 10 countries competing in 31games. Games will take place at
Scotiabank Place in Kanata, and the Ottawa Civic Centre in The Glebe.
Organizers hope to set a new World Junior attendance record. With 17
games at Scotiabank Place in Kanata, and 14 at the Ottawa Civic Centre
in the Glebe, attendance could surpass 456,000. The current record is
374,353, set in 2006 in Vancouver-Kamloops. (Read

Ticket packages for the 2009 World Juniors in Ottawa are sold
out. That's more than 440,000 tickets -- or 95 per cent capacity.
