Woman in viral distracted driving video charged

Ottawa Police have confirmed a seemingly distracted driver who went viral in a video last week has been charged.

The video was posted to Facebook by motorcyclist Erik Hanna last week and shows a woman who appears to be distracted by her phone. Hanna confronted the woman, and the video shows her cutting him off shortly after.

The video went viral, garnering over one million views in a matter of days.

The woman, who recently moved to Ottawa from Newfoundland, has now been charged.

Police also said there will be no charges laid against Hanna, but did warn him to not do the same thing again.
