Video from Ottawa’s polar bear dip on New Year’s Day

Here’s some video from today’s polar bear dip (officially called the Sears Great Canadian Chill). It took place this afternoon in the Ottawa River at Britannia Beach.

The video is from Graham Hay and Ron Hay at MegaPixel Travel, and you can find a ton of great photos here. I like the shot of the CHEO Bear wearing a bathrobe.

This article from the Ottawa Citizen says that about 300 people dipped themselves into the frigid water, and combined with an event in Toronto helped raise $15,000 for charity.
