Upcoming ramp closures and lane reductions on Highway 417

During the week of December 1 there will be off-peak lane reductions on Highway 417 in both directions between Metcalfe Street and the Highway 417/174 split. This section of the highway will be fully closed for 15-minute intervals between 1 and 4 a.m. During these periods, Ontario Provincial Police will be on hand to direct traffic; however, motorists are urged to consider alternate routes. ** ** ** Anticipated Ramp Closures – Overnight, November 30 – December 6, 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. **

The northbound St. Laurent Boulevard on-ramp to Highway 417 westbound will be closed nightly. This ramp will not be closed simultaneously with the northbound Vanier Parkway on-ramp to Highway 417 westbound.

The southbound St. Laurent Boulevard on-ramp to Highway 417 westbound will be closed nightly.

 * 
The southbound St. Laurent Boulevard on-ramp to Highway 417 eastbound will be closed nightly. This ramp will not be closed simultaneously with the southbound Vanier Parkway on-ramp to Highway 417 eastbound.

The eastbound Highway 417 off-ramp to St. Laurent Boulevard will be closed nightly. This ramp will not be closed simultaneously with the eastbound Highway 417 off-ramp to Vanier Parkway.

The eastbound Highway 417 off-ramp to the Vanier Parkway will be closed nightly. This ramp will not be closed simultaneously with the eastbound St. Laurent Boulevard off-ramp.

The westbound Highway 417 off-ramp to the Vanier Parkway will be closed nightly.

The northbound Vanier Parkway on-ramp to Highway 417 eastbound will be closed nightly. This ramp will not be closed simultaneously with the southbound Vanier Parkway on-ramp to Highway 417 eastbound.

The northbound Vanier Parkway on-ramp to Highway 417 westbound will be closed nightly. This ramp will not be closed simultaneously with the northbound St. Laurent Boulevard on-ramp to Highway 417 westbound.

The southbound Vanier Parkway on-ramp to Highway 417 westbound will be closed nightly.

The southbound Vanier Parkway on-ramp to Highway 417 eastbound will be closed nightly. This ramp will not be closed simultaneously with the southbound St. Laurent Boulevard on-ramp to 417 eastbound.

Many of these construction elements are weather-dependant and may be implemented later than the dates given above. Signage will be in place to advise drivers of traffic and road changes. Motorists are also reminded to respect the reduced speed limits and use caution when travelling through construction zones.

 

This work is being done as part of the Highway 417 expansion project, which began in May 2013, and will add an additional lane in each direction between Nicholas Street and the Split. The additional lane will be used for bus rapid transit during the 2015 to 2018 phase of the Confederation Line construction.
